Cloned From:

This is brilliant! Mind if I clone your html?

Go! Go, man! Live the dream!

"I am just living the dream." What movie is that from, anyhow? My memory sucks which is why I write so many reviews - just so I can actually remember what I thought of a movie. :)

Live Freaky die freaky?, what the hell is that?

It's stupid, that's what it is.

you have any interest in seeing 16 blocks, i recommend it, its my fave of this year so far.

I'll probably end up watching it, if only because I like Bruce Willis and Mos Def.

And obviously because you see everything. ;)

That too. :-)

Whoa. Of the movies I've seen on this list, there are only two that I liked less that Asia's ode to child abuse.

Well, I gotta give Asia credit -- she inherited her father's directorial eye. I think the look of "Heart" is sumptuous. Shame that it's gotta be wasted on such pointless material.

When I first saw the ads for "The Descent" I was skeptical - best thriller since "Aliens" blah blah blah - but I guess they're right ... right?

I thought it was damn good -- this Marshall guy knows how to construct some awesome creepy ambiance, and he also creates the best jump scenes in the biz. (There's nothing quite as amazing as the falling cow from his debut "Dog Soldiers," but there's some great jolts.) Your mileage, of course, may vary -- f'rinstance, I do wonder how you'll respond to the chaos-over-coherence approach of much of the film's second half. I think it makes logical and thematic sense, but even I'll admit it's a bit overdone...

Jackass Number Two? Really?

I'm assuming that if you hate anything Jackass and refused to watch the first movie--like me--you'd hate it, right?

I don't watch Jackass, but i saw the first movie and liked it a lot, can't wait for the second one.

Well... yeah, probably. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but what they're doing is pretty amazing IMO.

I'm going to make a vow here and now that next year, I will see (approximately) as many movies as you do. 2006 has been an utterly wasted year for me and this madness must cease.

Heh... I think there's a bit of irony in the fact that you're aspiring to my totals for this year, seeing as how I've been secretly chastising myself for falling off last year's pace... :-)

Well, I saw two this weekend, so there's a jump start. Jackass extremely good, especially since the first film's "gay subtext" has basically shed the "subtext" part. The Black Dahlia an obvious disappointment and basically to be filed with some of De Palma's other (good) hackwork like M:I, but I wasn't hostile towards like The Untouchables.

I'm struggling a bit with my reaction to Dahlia; I think it has enough good bits to make it worthwhile, but I'm having trouble expressing which bits. Confounded? Maybe.

Meanwhile, yay for The Departed not being bad. D'Angelo's strong approval had me worried there for a second.

I kinda figured its awesomeness was a foregone conclusion, but I'm still surprised that it turned out a lot better than Infernal Affairs.

D'Angelo's strong approval had me worried there for a second.

I cringed when I saw that, too. I still think the guy's a fantastic writer, but taste ... ahhh ... no comment. :-(

nice to see jackass 2 get A, can't wait to see that

It's... it's.... amazing.

I was wondering about Headspace. Guess I won't bother with it now.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that there Spaces of the Head. Killer premise barely even touched upon; instead, we get a bunch of lame monster-movie nonsense.

Speaking of monster-type movies, have you heard of Altered, the red-necks-versus-aliens straight-to-video flick that was directed by The Blair Witch's Eduardo Sánchez?

I have -- saw it in the new Fango. I'm... apprehensive.

I watched the first 30 minutes and it wasn't too bad. Not good, but better than average s-t-v fare.

Yeah, Volver was sort of a disappointment, wasn't it? Probably the only reason I was generous with it is because I saw it the same day I suffered through Dreamgirls.

It was just so... flat -- an airy, weightless thing. What the hell is everyone thinking in my opinion, etc.

Wow, I wish I had the time to watch this many movies

And I wish I had time to listen to as many albums as you do. It's a trade-off... :-)

I wish I didn't listen to that many albums. It takes away from my movie-time :P
