Wow, congrats for even trying to make a list like this, especially for succeeding. I've heard of quite a few on there, but certainly not all of them. In the Tampa Bay area, my favorite DJs (local) are Clearwater (CLRH20) - d'n'b, Screwface (Pauly) - jungle, and Milo - jungle.

Because she's not really a DJ - she's the vocalist for DJ Jurgen, who's already on the list.

I did a bit of research on it, and it turns out I was off by a bit: Alice Deejay is, in fact, the name of a "band" consisting of Danski, DJ Delmundo, DJ Jurgen, Pronti, Kalmani, and Judith Pronk as the vocalist, with Gaby & Jane on backup vocals.
Danski & Delmundo... no wonder Back in my life sounds so much like early Vengaboys (Danski and Delmundo were the real guys behind any Vengaboys track that sounded good, like La parada de titas, To the rythm etc etc etc). Anyhoo, that makes me point out that you haven't got Danski and Delmundo on the list :)

lol. It amuses me more than anything. Besides, I have no delusions that Tiesto is an incredible DJ, I just like his track-selection: while nothing special, he's ahead of the pack with his record-box, and often steps outside his anthem-progressive trance centre. Armin, Ferry, Paul Van Dyk, etc are exactly the same, of course, but there's something that just makes me prefer Tiesto.
Dancefloor talent-wise, I agree with Ishkur, Z-Trip is probably the best, and for pure DJing skill, I'd have to go with Kid Koala. But trance is my favored genre, so I prefer listening to Tiesto.

What exactly is the difference?
Well, "pure DJing skill" refers to turntablism, which has become an art all in it's own. This is much, much more difficult than simply DJing: you're creating entirely new songs by piecing together dozens of records on the spot using turntables. However, this is listening music: very tricky to dance to, and no longer about pleasing the crowd. This is a showcase of the cutting edge of DJing. "Dancefloor talent-wise" is referring to his/her ability to get people moving while still displaying a level of competence and creating something original: it's the perfect balance between turntablism and "playing other people's records".

Why ain't there any good non-european trance dj:s around. Almost every american dj plays non-melodic house/trance that just could be described as tribal-trance. And what is the difference between tracks in that genre.
It's true, most American trance is very boring. There is very little difference between tracks, it's made under the principle of: "you can dance to anything, so long as it's got a beat".

Hey while I loved your list, it must have taken you a long time to write it and compile it, and you have endured the pain of the comments from people left out and such. Your guidelines are confusing because most DJs now produce music, but a lot of us used DJs to promote music we produced (for example I sang and wrote "I see stars") but I think I have the right to put DJ in front of my name because.it separated me from my label obligations as Robin Fox is like Britney Spears or Alice Dee Jay..its a musical group hey like Kraftwerk ahhah I had to put that in! But like most doctors and chiropracitc put Dr. title in front of their name, I used it so that people would stop asking me what do you sing? trance. whats that? most people dont even know what genre unless we are already making it. Anyway I dont want this to be a big comment or an interview, but 1. I was a DJ at Boston's Rollerdisco before you were born.
2. I was on stations like Kiss 108, MITs station and WPOW in Miami long before I wrote music or could sing.
3. I actually went to college for 7 years to be a DJ
4. Our label created 124 stations for Trance Music and I did it without any help of X, drugs or pot illegal practices like MOST of the DJs on your list.
Okay I have been hated on, but hell I need publicity please put DJ Robin Fox on the # spot on your list. I earned it.
And my producer did Kareokee DJ for 3 years so that makes him a DJ too. Damnit!
