E-mailed Responses Curiosity
Submitted by jim on Fri, 03/08/2002 - 11:17I've noticed that not everyone avails themselves of the "check here to be e-mailed responses to this post" feature when they participate in discussions. Given that it is now possible in Listology to provide an e-mail address but keep it hidden from public view, I was wondering why anyone would ever post without using this feature? For me, that feature is the only way I know I've achieved closure on any given discussion I'm involved in. If it's still in my Eudora inbox, I know I haven't answered yet. Just curious - clearly everybody has their own habits!
Warning! Growing Pains Coming
Submitted by jim on Wed, 02/27/2002 - 08:04I've indicated in various places that I am in the process of implementing themes. These will allow you to customize the appearance, and to a certain extent the functionality, of Listology. You'll be able to completely overhaul (or eliminate) the header and left navigation bar. You'll be able to put navigation elements on the right. You'll be able to create custom boxes that automatically display custom search results, or that slurp up a list and process it item-by-item for output. You get the idea.
To do this, I'm taking baby steps towards a break with the past.
E-mail Format - Speak Now or Forever Receive HTML-formatted Announcements
Submitted by jim on Wed, 01/23/2002 - 13:50I'm on the verge of changing the nightly Listology "updated content" e-mail to be HTML instead of plain text. If you object, post your objections here. Silence indicates acceptance.
Listology Change History
Submitted by jim on Tue, 01/22/2002 - 05:20- Listology Change History: If you bring lists to the video store or bookstore, or if you archive them for posterity, you'll love this feature. Lists are now accessible in a printer-friendly format. On any list you can click the "print" button, or for any user profile you can click the "print menu" link, and then check off every one of their lists you'd like to print in one combined document.
