    Lone Election Post

    Tags:

I'm going to stretch to make this appear topical, but really it's just a shameless partisan election post. If it's any consolation, this'll be my only one. Anyway, I have three things for you:

Number One: A list (what could me more topical for Listology?): 100 Facts and 1 Opinion: The Non-Arguable Case Against the Bush Administration. While these may be facts, some will find them points for rather than against.

    Netflix Security

Hopefully this'll be my last administrative post for awhile and we can get back to the fun stuff. I deleted all the Netflix cookies provided by queue sharers, so the next time you want to import your queue you'll have to re-enter it. I did this because I figured everybody should read the new security note so they are fully informed before providing me with their Netflix cookie. Go edit your queue - you'll see the note. Thanks!

    Netflix Tracker Updates

The Netflix Tracker just got a couple more reports, including one on the known distribution centers, which I'd like help completing, if you have a moment.

    A Netflix Subproject

    Tags:

This isn't really a new Listology feature so much as it is a new sub-project that takes advantage of the Listology infrastructure. I've built a Netflix Tracker which you can use to log your rentals in gruesome detail. The idea is to either confirm or put to rest conspiracy theories regarding Netflix turnaround time. If you have a moment, give it a whirl, import your rental history, and let me know of any bugs before I ask a few Netflix bloggers (some of them also resident Listologists) to spread the word. Thanks!

    Listology Favorites

    Tags:

I recently deployed a feature that allows you to flag lists as favorites. Just open up the list and click the "Favorite" button! I've picked a few myself, but it's definitely a work in progress. Next step will be to build some tables of "most favored lists", "most recently favored lists", etc. So there ya go, time to start picking through Listology with a fine-tooth comb to flag the good stuff!

    Listology Your Way

Yes, it is in fact my secret mission to turn all Listology readers into Firefox users. Surfers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your crappy Microsoft browser. Click through to read how Firefox allows you to make Listology look pretty much however you want (some disclaimers apply).

    An Uglier Go Button

    Tags:

It's funny given all the talk about making cosmetic changes to the Listology header and "Go" buttons that I should discover what I really need is an uglier "Go" button. If you do a refresh (or perhaps a SHIFT+Refresh) you'll note that the buttons in the search box to the left have changed. I did this because I needed anti-aliased buttons with transparency to accommodate the forthcoming stylesheet switching.

    Alternate Listology Stylesheets

Enemies of my taste in yellow rejoice! You can now switch stylesheets in Listology. Well, some of you can. You have to use a real browser for it to work. At the moment that means Firefox, but it's supposed to work for Opera as well. I say "supposed to" because it doesn't, at least not for me. I can switch the stylesheet, but it doesn't persist from page to page (i.e. it keeps reverting to the default stylesheet). And, as is the case with so many things, IE users are left completely out in the cold.
