Blockbuster video has announced the top 10 favorite family holiday movies, according to their survey. They also found that Jimmy Stewart is still the favorite holiday actor, but Tim Allen is America's favorite Santa. I can't disagree with the former, but I think the latter might be because there aren't many big-name actors who have portrayed Santa.

I stumbled across this site which has some interesting lists. I wonder why this guy didn't end up on this list though. I added the Listology to this list.

Over 500,000 people were polled at this site and the final result is this list of the 100 Best Movies of All Time. I've only seen 58 of them (and 5 of them are on my most controversial lists) but let us know what you think!

There are plenty of movies that you either love or hate, and The Blair Witch Project was definitely one of them. I suspect, if you hated it, that you were expecting more action and/or blood (BWP has almost none of either). That said, I just rented it, and I recommend it ("Thanks for the scoop, Jim." Fair enough, I admit I was probably one of the last people on earth to see it). I can't think of a more emotionally realistic fictional film.

While it's still a wee bit early to start making "Best of 1999" lists, I did find this attempt at predicting them from March of 1999. Some good picks in there, even if the author does describe the source material for Titus as "reliable."

Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life only appear on a couple lists, so it's hard to make broad sweeping generalizations regarding their relative popularity. Having never seen IAWL, I am personally in no position to judge (I know, I know , "what kind of cave did I grow up in blah blah blah" . . . I've never seen Spinal Tap either.
